WE CREATE OPEN & INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS

Our workshops provide a space for young people to explore mental health and stigma through the connective and emotional power of art.

Everybody has a mental health story.

In 2016-17 Art With Impact ran three types of educational workshops: Movies for Mental Health at colleges, Films With Impact at high schools, and educational sessions at conferences.

Colleges and universities hosted Movies for Mental Health workshops in California, New England, and in seven provinces throughout Canada.  Each workshop featured facilitated, interactive discussion, four films from OLIVE, insights from students who have lived experience with mental illness, and a panel of on- and off-campus mental health resources.

Films With Impact was hosted by high schools in California and Quebec. In these multi-day workshops, high school students learned about mental health issues, created their own one-minute film about a mental health issue impacting them, then shared their films with their peers through a film festival.
